Doris Dennis Funeral

I have sad news for you all today.

Yesterday evening I received a call from Doris Dennis’ daughter Brenda to say that Doris died yesterday morning at home with her family, she was 95 years old. Doris was one of the most beautiful people I have ever met and I know those of you who knew her will agree completely. She was always full of fun and always ready to share her time and wisdom with everybody. I loved her to bits. Doris was a loyal member of our Gawler group until ill health stopped her from coming; after she left whenever any of us visited her we would always end up singing together.

Her funeral will be at

The funeral is on 31st May 2021 and will start at 2.00pm, those of you who are singing please be there by 1.30. We will be singing 5 songs that Doris requested, you will need

Book 4 at start Page 28 and then page 152
Book 2 page 44 at end of Funeral service
Book 6 page 127 and ) during afternoon tea
SATP book 1page 35 ) during afternoon tea

On this occasion please mark your page but not with pieces of paper sticking out please, so that there is no fidgeting or checking with others, Full uniform please. Please take your seat and no chatting, certainly no chatting between songs. Hold your books at chest level, open with the cover showing, please hold only the book we are using at the time: when we use the 2 books during afternoon tea, please keep SATP 1 inside book 6 and show just Book 6. Please hold your books in this manner until the music stops and I gesture you to sit down. I will also gesture when I want you to stand, so keep an eye on me. This is a solemn occasion and our last tribute to our beautiful Doris, let’s do her proud.

We will be using the iPod and will practice this coming Monday night.
