International Peace Day Service
September 21, 2019 @ 10:30 am AEST
The UN International Peace Day Service is a non-denominational service held annually around the world to mark the international day of peace. It is to be held once again at the Uniting Church, Pacific Highway, Lindfield on Saturday 21st September at 11am.
This special event is open to ALL members of the general community, and is generally attended by church and community leaders as well as local schools. The ecumenical service is held in the main hall at the rear of the church, and features special contributions from a dozen different faiths, two community choirs (including Sing Australia Gordon) and two youth groups. Refreshments are served afterwards with the Mayor.
We will be performing three songs: Let There Be Peace on Earth, Shelter and Make me a Channel of your Peace (SATP Book 1 and the Anzac Book).
Full uniform is required for the service. If you do not have full uniform, we ask that you wear a white long sleeve shirt with black pants (or black skirt for women), with black shoes. We ask our members to arrive at 10:30am in order to prepare and practise, and to increase your chances of favourable parking.
