Hi Colin & Charles, Sing Australia Glenelg (plus a few members from Warradale) had a fabulous week of performances! On Wednesday, we enjoyed a delightful gig withwith the South Australian CWA Plympton Branch. The highlight was the crowd participation during “Home Among the Gum Trees” — the best we've ever had! After our performance, we were treated to a delicious afternoon tea, lovingly prepared by the wonderful ladies of the CWA. On Thursday, we had another fantastic gig — this time for the Friendship Group at the Western Link Uniting Church. The audience was wonderfully engaged, with a couple dancing up the front as a group of ladies linked hands waving at the back during our performance of “Sweet Caroline.” The Friendship Group also treated us with a scrumptious afternoon tea. Michelle did us proud, conducting both gigs with professionalism and flair. She brought great energy and a wonderful sense of fun to each performance. Angela played beautifully on Wednesday, while Emma took over on Thursday with equal brilliance. Regards, Katie Gallagher Leader Sing Australia - Glenelg Comment: Thank you Katie for this lovely report and the great photos. Sorry for the delay in posting it but this is my last day as National Director and Owner of Sing Australia and I am so proud of the Glenelg group. Over the years the group has flown the Sing Australia colours high and proud and it just seems such a high point to go out on from my point of view to acknowledge your magnificent contribution. How good it is the your crowd partcipation was so full on and hearty. First the CWA and then then the Friendship Group responding with some dancing. It could refect the goals of Sing Australia more. Congratualtions Glenelg for this ongoing brilliant contribution to your community. Yu are lucky to have Emma and Michelle leading. Well done Katie. I can't help but also have in the forefront of my mind when I look back on the groups incredible achievements the massive contribution made by Bernie and Colleen and before them Barb Jansen. Quite extraordinary. What a group. Great memories to treasure.Read moreRead less

Dear Colin, Ballarat and Ballarat North Sing Australia have been busy! We were invited to sing for the residents of the local Kelaston residential care facility last Friday. We were welcomed by an audience of about 40 who were most appreciative of our performance. But even more importantly, we loved singing for them and gained far more from the experience. Sing on, Julie Miller. Comment: I am sorry to leave this posting to now. I am so very proud of the Ballarat groups. One of the highlights of starting Sing Australia was to start a group in Ballarat so that my mum could attend. Needless to say she loved being a member, she looked forward to attending practice every week and especially participating in all the gigs and attending the National Gatherings. You were all so kind and she loved you all dearly. I just wanted to say that before commenting on your gig as this will be among my last deeds as the owner and National Director. So thank you Julie for the report and hearty congratulations one and all. Congratulations and a big thank you Ballarat/Ballarat North To Marilyn and Jane, Lee, Margaret, Doreen and so many of you who help in all sorts of ways and to all the lovely members. You have always filled my heart with pride. All the very best. All the lovely people you share your music with are constantly uplifted by your gift of song. Thank you and all the very best. Love Colin and Margaret.Read moreRead less

Dear Colin, Yesterday Sing Australia Ballarat - Ballarat North Groups sang for the local Grevillea Probus Club Birthday Celebration. We sang 12 songs from our Love Songs Program, including a beautiful solo “Misty”, performed by Marilyn Kent - our esteemed musical leader. The morning performance was followed by a lovely lunch at the venue. Regards, Julie Miller Comment: Thanks Julie. Well, Ballarat is certainly showing its best colours . Brilliant. Congratulations to you all and especially to Marilyn. I can imagine how beautiful the rendition of Misty would have been especially also accompanied by Jane. Great work everyone. We are super proud of Ballarat. Colin Slater National Director (reporting from Rome)Read moreRead less
